For Girl Scouts:
Learn about early letter writing in Oregon history, including getting your very own handwritten letter from a child on the Oregon Trail! (These were written by SCEC, some based on true accounts.) We will read our letters to each other, discuss them, and write a short adventure story about the child in the letter. Then you can dress up in our pioneer costumes and give yourself a new pioneer name. Create and write a poem about your pioneer girl persona and complete it with a drawing. It’s fun to learn about history while earning your Scribe badge!
Our education center is in the historic Dr. Snapp house built in 1898. More details to follow!
