We will hear Mrs. Annabelle Smith tell of her adventures on the Oregon Trail and take questions from the audience. She will bring handwritten letters from boys and girls on the Oregon Trail. Each child will receive a letter and a questionnaire to fill out about their letter.
This literature/reading curriculum has been designed by our Executive Director and meets the standards for Fourth Grade in reading, comprehension, and writing. The class will be led by an instructor who will pass out the letters and guide you in answering the questions. Your child’s “homework”, should you choose to do it, is to write a handwritten letter back to the author in your own words, using your imagination. Then, if you like, mail us a copy and we will post them to our website.
This presentation and curriculum is available for teachers to book in their own classrooms for a fee of $50. Mrs. Annabelle Smith will come to you and bring the letters, and do the presentation for your students. We will email the teacher the curriculum one week ahead of time. For more information, see this page: https://www.singingcreekcenter.org/letters-trail-program/
Please RSVP to let us know you will be coming so we know how many letters and questionnaires to bring.
