Together we will make a small basket from either cattails or tule and twined with raffia infused with local color.
$65 per person ($30 materials, $35 instruction)
The fee includes materials and three hours of instruction on basketry techniques using locally gathered and naturally dyed materials. Come weave with us! Instructor Jess Lambright from Wild Alive Outside also is an instructor for SCEC. She has learned basketry from an indigenous person.
(If you don’t finish your basket on the first class, you can come for free to the second class and bring your basket back to keep working on it. If you sign up for the second class and don’t finish your basket the instructor can stay a few minutes after class to help you finish it.)
Location: a rented house in Eugene, in the University district. (You will receive the address after you register for the class.)
6 people minimum, 8 people maximum
Age requirement: This class is best for teens and adults.
Thursday March 20th (tule basket); 5pm – 8pm
If you want to sign up for both classes you need to submit the form once for each class. (The other class is on March 11th.)
