Bring your 5th graders out to Singing Creek Education Center for a day of Pond Study Aquatic Science. The curriculum for this field trip was written by Melanie Brown, a graduate of Riparian Ecosystems from OSU. What’s a Riparian Ecosystem you may ask?
Riparian zones are ecosystems located along the banks of rivers, streams, creeks, or any other water networks.
The pond study aligns with state standards for science in this area, and we will be dip netting in the pond, doing comparative analysis, and charting our findings.
Kids will learn about the kinds of creatures that are found in these ecosystems, how to determine water quality and habitat health, and have a great time!
We are offering these in Spring and Fall, cost is $4.50 per child.
